Welcome from the Plymouth County Democratic League
The Plymouth County Democratic League is a Political Action Committee founded in 1935 with the sole goal of working for Democratic candidates and promoting the Democratic party in Plymouth County and that mission is still at our core more than three-quarters of a century later.
The solidly conservative Plymouth County - or deep red "Cranberry Corner" has become better territory for Democrats since 1935. In 1970, for the first time, more there were more Democratic State Representatives than Republicans for the first time and that still holds true today. History has been made as recently as 2012 when the Sixth Plymouth District elected the first Democrat in history to represent them. Our county government today consists of Democrats leading the Courts and Registry of Deeds and we hold one of the three seats on the County Commission. The County is currently represented by two Democratic Senators and three Democratic Congressmen in Washington, five Democratic State Senators and nine Democratic State Representatives.
But we need your help. The top law enforcement officials in the County - the District Attorney and Sheriff - are both Republicans. We have lost one state senate seat and two state representative seats to the GOP since 2010. Sec. Hillary Clinton had her smallest vote share in the Commonwealth in Plymouth County despite winning the county by 20,000 votes.
Every seat will be challenged again in 2020. We need your help to elect these Democrats - we can't do it without you. Become a PCDL member today and get engaged.
